How Flomixy Keeps Your Connected Instagram, Threads, and Facebook Accounts Secure

Flomixy never asks for your Instagram, Threads, or Facebook password – and never sees it. Every account connection goes through Meta’s own login screen (OAuth), and Flomixy only ever receives a scoped access token, not your credentials.

If that sentence is all you came for, that’s the whole answer. Here’s what it actually means in practice, because “we use OAuth” is the kind of line every tool says and few explain.

You log in on Meta’s screen, not ours

When you connect an account, Flomixy redirects you to Instagram’s or Facebook’s own login page – the actual meta.com/instagram.com domain, not a lookalike. You authenticate there. Meta then hands Flomixy a token that proves you approved the connection, scoped to exactly the permissions you granted. Your password never travels through Flomixy’s servers, because it never reaches them – technically can’t.

Scoped permissions, not blanket access

That token isn’t a master key to your account. It’s scoped to specific permissions – publishing posts, reading insights, managing comments – each one requested explicitly and shown to you before you approve. Flomixy can’t read your DMs, can’t see your followers list beyond what analytics requires, and can’t do anything outside what the token was issued for.

Tokens expire – and we tell you before they break something

Access tokens aren’t permanent. When one is close to expiring or Meta invalidates it (password change on your end, permission revoked, app review changes), Flomixy flags the account and asks you to reconnect – before a scheduled post silently fails, not after. A dead token producing a confusing publish error with no explanation is a common failure mode in this category; we treat token health as something to surface, not something to discover when a client asks why nothing posted.

Team access is role-based, not shared logins

If you’re an agency, your team doesn’t share one login to touch client accounts. Roles and permissions are enforced server-side per workspace – a team member can be scoped to draft-only, an approver can review without publish rights, and access to one client’s workspace doesn’t leak into another’s. Client accounts stay separated by workspace, not by trust.

Data handling: EU-hosted, GDPR by design

Flomixy runs on EU infrastructure. Account data, post history, and analytics are stored under GDPR, and you can export your account data at any time – this isn’t a feature we’re planning, it’s already how the platform works. If you disconnect an account or delete your workspace, the associated data is removed, not quietly retained.

What this means if you’re evaluating scheduling tools generally

Any tool asking you to type your Instagram or Facebook password directly into their app – instead of redirecting you to Meta’s own login – is doing it wrong, and it’s worth asking why before you trust it with a client’s account. OAuth redirect is the standard for a reason: it’s the only flow where the platform holding your password is the platform you already trust.
